Week 9 might not hold any surprises as huge as the Jay Cutler-led Chicago Bears upsetting the NFC North first-place Minnesota Vikings, but there’s still plenty of intrigue surrounding this slate of matchups.

Looking at the schedule for Week 9 of the 2016 NFL season, you can already tell it’s going to be hard to figure out which games to watch. The slate is jam-packed with high-quality action throughout to day. Only making the decision harder is the fact that it’s a balanced schedule on Sunday. Rather than a boatload of 1 p.m. ET kickoffs and a pair of late-afternoon games, there are six early game to four late-afternoon games. That only makes the decision harder, but also makes you thankful for NFL RedZone. (Click here for NFL Week-9 picks without regard to the spread.)

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens:

Pittsburgh

Baltimore

2:00 PM (ET) CBS M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore

If you’ve been frantically Googling for the past 24 hours trying to figure out if Ben Roethlisberger is going to play or not on Sunday, we have some bad news for you: No one knows yet, and the only person who might know.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Ravens need to get to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, slow running back Le’Veon Bell and limit receiver Antonio Brown. Baltimore can take advantage of a returning healthy offensive line and some new wrinkles under Offensive Coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.

Ravens Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees has seen a lot of running backs in his 37 years of coaching football. This week, Pees said Bell is “one of the best backs I think I’ve ever gone up against.” Bell has a very unique, patient style. He’ll take his time getting to the line of scrimmage, then burst through a hole when it opens up.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to play their AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens in the Charm City in Week 9. The Steelers are sporting a nifty 4-3 record, coming off back-to-back losses, while the Ravens have stumbled as of late and are 3-4 with four consecutive defeats.

Dallas Cowboys at Cleveland Browns:

Dallas

Cleveland

12:00 PM (ET) FOX FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland

The Dallas Cowboys sit atop the NFC after a huge win over the rival Philadelphia Eagles while the Cleveland Browns haven’t won a pro football game since December 12, 2015.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

As Dak Prescott continues to rack up wins, the Dallas Cowboys decision about whether to make him the permanent starting quarterback becomes easier. The rookie quarterback and the Cowboys will try to win their seventh straight game when they play at the Cleveland Browns.

While there is no such thing as a sure thing in the NFL, if the Cowboys lose in Cleveland on Sunday a lot of Survivor Pools are going to be massacred by Monday. To consider: the Browns, a seven-point underdog at home.

While Prescott leads most Rookie of the Year midseason awards lists, his greatest competition is the guy behind him in the Cowboys’ backfield. Ezekiel Elliott leads the NFL in rushing (799 yards) and is averaging five yards a crack. He also has five TDs.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Kansas City Chiefs:

Jacksonville

Kansas City

2:00 PM (ET) CBS Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City

Jacksonville is averaging just over four points per first half on the road this season, which means the Jags probably will be looking up at KC at halftime The Jaguars usually turn it on in the second half, but that could be tough this week on the road against a Chiefs team allowing just 6.7 second-half points per game at home.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

In another 1 pm game on Sunday, you will see a team with a Quarterback for the future and the other one that has its QB now. The Kansas City Chiefs are set to play the Jacksonville Jaguars. Unfortunately, this season has not been great to the Jaguars as they are towards the bottom of the AFC and need a lot to go their way to make the playoffs.

On the other side, you have a Jacksonville Jaguars that comes into this game with a record of 2-5 and is currently towards the bottom of the AFC. They are also coming into this game on a two-game losing streak with losses to the Oakland Raiders and the Titans.

One is that this team is capable of playing better than it played in back-to-back losses to Oakland and Tennessee. The Jaguars played far better earlier in the season than it did in those two games, so the body of work is there for an improved effort.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins:

New York

Miami

2:00 PM (ET) CBS Hard Rock Stadium, Miami

Both sporting two-game winning streaks, the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets meet Sunday afternoon at Hard Rock Stadium. CBS will be showing two games this weekend, while FOX will have a single late afternoon game.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The New York Jets, led by Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brandon Marshall, will play their Week 9 NFL game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The Dolphins are led by Jarvis Landry and Ndamukong Suh.

Greg Gumbel and Trent Green will be calling the Jets vs. Dolphins game scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time kickoff. Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour as Daylight Savings Time comes to an end at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning

The Jets game will be shown in nearly all of New York state other than the Buffalo area, northern New Jersey, and parts of Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. Click here to see what games you will get in your region.

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants:

Philadelphia

New York

2:00 PM (ET) FOX MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford

The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2016 NFL schedule continues this week as the team is set to play the New York Giants (4-3) on Sunday. The Eagles (4-3) are still looking for their first division win of the season.

NFL: New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

For New York Giants fans it probably seems like forever since they have been able to follow their normal Sunday Giants football routine. After a London game that started at 9:30 a.m. ET and a bye week the Giants are back in a regular time slot Sunday, hosting the Philadelphia Eagles at 1 p.m. ET (FOX).

Every game is typically a must-win affair for every NFL team, but that sentiment is especially true for the Eagles this week. Philadelphia desperately needs a victory after dropping to 0-2 in the division with a loss to the Cowboys last Sunday. If the Eagles lose to the Giants, they’ll be last in the NFC East at 4-4 overall and 0-3 in division games. A loss would be very bad for the Eagles’ playoff hopes this season.

The good news for the Birds is that this is a winnable game for them. New York is a far cry from some type of juggernaut. The G-Men are only scoring 17.1 offensive points per game, which ranks 28th in the NFL. The Eagles’ defense, meanwhile, is only allowing an average of 16.7 points. That’s the fourth best figure in the league.

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings:

Detroit

Minnesota

2:00 PM (ET) FOX U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis

The Detroit Lions will start their eighth different right tackle in the last four seasons on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Lions cornerback Darius Slay (hamstring) is one of six starters listed as questionable. Taylor Decker (ribs), Riley Reiff (illness), Theo Riddick (ankle), Ziggy Ansah (ankle) and Haloti Ngata (shoulder) also are questionable.

Image result

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Vikings are in disarray offensively, with an injury-riddled line collapsing around Sam Bradford and a coordinator switch Wednesday. But can this Lions defense take advantage? Not unless they get healthy in a hurry.

It seems like an all-too-perfect scenario that’s lining up in the Lions favor. The Vikings are decimated by injuries, have lost two straight, their offense has fallen flat and offensive coordinator Norv Turner resigned unexpectedly. But the Vikings still boast the best defense the Lions likely will face all season.

The Vikings defense is great but their offense has fallen apart the past two weeks. They can’t run the ball, and Sam Bradford has been getting battered. Detroit historically doesn’t win in Minnesota, and historically doesn’t overpower stout defenses.

Carolina Panthers at Los Angeles Rams:

Carolina

Los Angeles

5:05 PM (ET) FOX Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles

In the Panthers’ mind, they started a new season after the bye week, and now they’re heading to Los Angeles for the first time in team history looking to earn consecutive wins for the first time this season.

“A general theme for what we do on defense is if we can stop the run game, making them one-dimensional, and get up on them quick, that’s what we try to do,” linebacker Luke Kuechly said. “That’s what we did last week, and when we’re successful that’s kind of the trend with us.”

Now the Panthers are tasked with taking the winning recipe on the road to face a Rams team that’s 3-4 coming off their bye. The Rams, who returned to Los Angeles from St. Louis this offseason, have struggled on offense behind quarterback Case Keenum, ranking 30th in points (17.1) and yards (307.6). Running back Todd Gurley, who earned Rookie of the Year honors, is averaging just 3.0 yards per carry in his second season.

“It doesn’t just carry on because you won one game,” tight end Greg Olsen said. “You have to be willing to reset back to zero and do that each week. We got a taste of what we’re capable of, now it’s just a matter of keeping it going. It takes a collective effort.”

New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49ers:

New Orleans

San Francisco

5:05 PM (ET) FOX Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara

San Francisco is coming off a bye and is hopeful that Colin Kaepernick can get something started for its struggling offense. Kaepernick could be in store for a resurgence on Sunday as the Saints come into town with just the league’s 28th-ranked defense.

SaintsSeahawks ST 1436.jpg

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The 49ers’ last-ranked defense will be facing its biggest challenge of the season with pass-happy Drew Brees in town. Brees has helped the Saints lead the league with 326.9 passing yards per game. Brees is fresh off leading New Orleans to a 25-20 victory over Seattle last week.

Drew Brees and Co. continued to turn their season around with a must-have win over the Seattle Seahawks last week. With that, New Orleans (3-4) heads out west into a favorable matchup with the struggling 49ers and a chance to get to .500 for the first time this season.

This will be the first time the Saints have played at Levi’s Stadium. The last time the 49ers hosted New Orleans was five years ago when Alex Smith led San Francisco to a thrilling playoff victory. As evidenced by its 1-6 record, San Francisco isn’t the same team it was five years ago. The 49ers have lost 17 of their last 22 games.

Tennessee Titans at San Diego Chargers:

Tennessee

San Diego

5:25 PM (ET) CBS Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego

Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans have already achieved one goal, the goal of winning more games in 2016 than they did in 2015. The Titans win against Jacksonville was their fourth, they won three in 2015. The Titans will try to push their record to above .500 when they play at the San Diego Chargers.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Chargers are looking at a must win if they’re thinking about playoffs… PLAYOFFS?! The Chargers are hurting for healthy players and the current injuries to their key players will have an impact on this game. While the Titans defense isn’t a powerhouse they’re no push over and with a banged up offense, the Chargers may struggle.

Mariota has been red-hot for the Titans (4-4), who have won three of their last four games. Mariota has thrown 10 touchdown passes and one interception during that four-game stretch. San Diego (3-5) quarterback Philip Rivers was beaten up during the 27-19 loss to Denver. Rivers, one of the league’s best passers, was sacked four times and hit 12 times by the Denver defense.

The Titans plan to get Henry more involved in the offense this week, as they go against a San Diego Chargers defense that has been better than advertised recently.

Indianapolis Colts at Green Bay Packers:

Indianapolis

Green Bay

5:25 PM (ET) CBS Lambeau Field, Green Bay

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is not playing badly, but there seems to be something missing from his game and the Packers offense. The loss of running back Eddie Lacy hasn’t helped, forcing the Packers to dig deep into the depth chart.

Aaron Rodgers

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Colts’ 31st-ranked pass defense could be stressed if it has to go without Pro Bowl cornerback Vontae Davis (concussion). If Davis is cleared, Robinson likely will stay at his post at left cornerback and could see a bulk of his snaps against Adams, who’s caught 25 of his 40 passes this season over the Packers’ last two games.

Both the Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers came into the 2016 season with aspirations at competing for a Super Bowl, but despite being led by two of the top quarterbacks in the league, things haven’t quite come together at the halfway point of the season.

Green Bay lost a heartbreaker on the road to the Atlanta Falcons, 33-32. Aaron Rodgers was everything for Green Bay in its Week 8 road game at the Georgia Dome. Jordy Nelson looked good, too, but the Packers’ offense is anything but healthy or dynamic. Rodgers carried Green Bay as far as he could in that game. He’s elite, but he needs help this offseason.

Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders:

Denver

Oakland

9:30 PM (ET) NBC Oakland Coliseum, Oakland

The Denver Broncos have played in plenty of big games recent seasons. The Oakland Raiders are new to this big game thing. First place in the AFC West is on the line when the two teams meet on Sunday Night Football.

carr.jpg

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

For the first time since 2006, the Oakland Raiders are scheduled to play football on a Sunday night. For the first time since 2002, they might actually be good — seriously. When the Raiders host the Denver Broncos on Week 9 of “Sunday Night Football,” they’ll be playing for the lead in the AFC West.

Quarterback Derek Carr put himself in the middle of the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award debate last Sunday with a career-high 513 yards in Oakland’s overtime win over the Buccaneers. But Carr will be facing perhaps the NFL’s most destructive defense, led by sack specialist Von Miller.

One thing to watch for: Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib has been ruled out with a back injury. Another thing to watch for: how the Raiders’ offense holds up against a great defense. As our Jared Dubin wrote Friday, the Raiders offense could be exposed Sunday night.

Three pretty exciting things about college football’s Week 10: it’s November now, we have Playoff rankings now, and one of the annual biggest games is Saturday night. And there are plenty of other good games, too, because there always are.

This likely won’t be a chaos weekend, with only two games between two ranked teams (Alabama-LSU and Nebraska-Ohio State) and most other ranked teams favored by big spreads. Safe and secure all around! When you feel like that, that’s how you know when a chaos weekend is about to strike. So we’re well on course for fun.

Texas A&M, rather surprisingly, came in at No. 4 in the first College Football Playoff rankings, ahead of an unbeaten Washington team. The Aggies will have chance to prove their ranking against a Mississippi State team that defeated them the last time they met in Starkville.(Click here for NCAA FB Week-10 picks without regard to the spread.)

The biggest games of the weekend kick off at 8 p.m. ET. For Big Ten fans, you have a top-10 matchup featuring two 1-loss contenders in Nebraska and Ohio State. For the SEC crowd, you have the LSU-Alabama game. The last two times these teams met in Baton Rouge, Alabama needed some late heroics to pull out a win.

Air Force Falcons at Army Black Knights:

Air Force snapped a three-game losing streak by beating Fresno State, and now the Falcons will look to continue to build on that momentum when they visit the Army Black Knights in a service academy rivalry game on Saturday.

Arion Worthman, Tim McVey

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Air Force (5-3) finally broke the three-game losing streak it was on when it took down Fresno State last week, 31-21. In the three weeks prior to that victory, the Falcons fell on the road at Wyoming and at home versus New Mexico and Hawaii.

It’s been a similar situation for Army (5-3). The Black Knights started off 3-2 and have won two of their last three games. Despite a loss to North Texas two weeks ago, Army picked up those two wins at home against Lafayette and this past weekend on the road at Wake Forest, 21-13.

The Falcons are in full control of the all-time series, 35-14-1. Air Force has won the last three contests, including last year’s meeting, 20-3. Army hasn’t won since 2012 at West Point.

Vanderbilt Commodores at Auburn Tigers:

No. 9 Auburn (6-2, 4-1 SEC) seeks its sixth straight victory Saturday. Its opponent is Vanderbilt (4-4, 1-3), which had an open date last week. Prior to that, Vanderbilt had topped Georgia and Tennessee State, respectively, giving the Commodores their first two-game win streak since 2013 and the first time they had won consecutive games at any point in the Derek Mason era.

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

The Tigers run for an average of 303.4 yards per game, which leads the SEC and ranks third in the FBS. Vanderbilt allows 157.6 yards per game on the ground, which ranks seventh in the conference. The most rushing yards Vanderbilt has allowed this season came against run-first, run-often Georgia Tech, which finished with 289 yards.

The Commodores have been porous against the pass this season. At 240.4 passing yards allowed per game, Vanderbilt ranks 12th in the SEC, ahead of only Texas A&M and Mississippi State. Four different opponents have passed for 285 yards or more against the Commodores, which bodes well for White should the Tigers elect to take to the air with regularity this weekend.

There are plenty of numbers the Commodores would prefer not to look at when it comes to their offense. They rank last in the SEC in total offense (308.6 ypg) and next to last in scoring offense (20.8 ppg). One of Vanderbilt’s biggest issues, however, has been its inability to extend drives.

Texas Longhorns at Texas Tech Red Raiders:

Texas

Texas Tech

10:00 PM FS1 Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock, T

Coming off of an upset of the Baylor Bears, the Texas Longhorns have a chance to beat another in-state rival on Saturday when they visit the Texas Tech Red Raiders. This game very well could be a shootout, as quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Red Raiders average 47.4 points per game, while D’Onta Foreman and the Longhorns average 36.

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

The Texas Longhorns are winless away from Austin this season (0-4) and if Charlie Strong’s bunch hopes to change that Saturday morning, they’ll have to do so against one of the most explosive offenses in recent memory. Fortunately for Strong, Sterlin Gilbert and the offensive cast, opposite Texas Tech’s potent offense is a tremendously sub-par defense that’s allowed 65-plus points twice this season.

The good news for Texas Tech? Chris Warren III, who rushed for 276 yards in last year’s game between these two schools, has been sidelined by a knee injury since early October. The bad news? Foreman entered this weekend as the Big 12’s only 1,000-yard rusher, and he’s looking for his 10th straight 100-yard performance. Among Big 12 teams, only Iowa State is yielding more yards on the ground than Tech, which is gifting opposing teams 213.8 yards each outing.

The teams have identical records, with both needing to win at least two of their final four games to become bowl eligible. The Longhorns have yet to win away from home this season.

Wisconsin is coming off an overtime victory against Nebraska, and the Badgers’ only losses have come by a touchdown each, to Michigan and Ohio State.

Nebraska v Wisconsin

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Coach Paul Chryst said Monday that Hornibrook will start on Saturday at Northwestern. Hornibrook took over as starter in the Week 4 win at Michigan State. Alex Hornibrook remains the starter at quarterback for No. 8 Wisconsin, which has also used backup Bart Houston more behind center of late.

The Northwestern Wildcats hung tough against the Ohio State Buckeyes a week ago but weren’t able to pull the upset. This Saturday, the Wildcats get another chance at a top 10 team as the eighth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers come to Evanston.

But Chryst gave Houston a couple series two weeks ago against Iowa. Houston got a few more drives in last week’s win over Nebraska , including the series in overtime that led to Dare Ogunbowale’s 11-yard touchdown run for Wisconsin (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten).

Mason Rudolph

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Oklahoma State is in the mix for a Big 12 championship. A road victory against Kansas State would help that cause. The Wildcats are looking to enter that mix, as well, and can become bowl eligible with a win.

After upsetting West Virginia and cracking the College Football Playoff Top 25, the Oklahoma State Cowboys will look to keep their momentum going as they visit the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday.

Average passing teams have found success against the Wildcats’ secondary this season. Jordan Willis, Tanner Wood and Reggie Walker need to put pressure on Rudolph and force him into bad situations and help K-State’s defensive backs.

Deshaun Watson and the No. 2 Clemson Tigers have been clutch this season, coming up with big plays whenever they’ve been challenged to remain undefeated heading into Saturday’s home game against the Syracuse Orange.

Clemson v Florida State

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Clemson received a great position after the first College Football Playoff rankings were unveiled. They sit above Michigan and Texas A&M in the top four. The Tigers have a perfect record, which has been tested by Louisville and North Carolina State in recent weeks.

Last Saturday, Florida State nearly knocked off Deshaun Watson and Co. However, 17 fourth quarter points helped Clemson pull out the victory. They had 378 passing yards from Watson and four touchdowns as a team. They also had 133 yards on the ground, including Wayne Gallman having 82 yards and two touchdowns.

As for Syracuse, they have had an up and down season. They had an early season blowout to Lamar Jackson and Louisville, but have since rebounded with a big win over the then-No. 17 Virginia Tech Hokies. Boston College also went down to them last Saturday.

With the Virginia Tech Hokies having won five of their past six games and the Duke Blue Devils 0-4 in ACC play, it might seem as though Saturday’s matchup between the two in Durham, North Carolina, would be a foregone conclusion.

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

The Hokies rank fourth in the ACC, putting up 36.2 points per game. Last time out, quarterback Jerod Evans passed for more than 400 yards, and Tech had three receivers break the 100-yard mark. Evans is continuing his monster debut season in Blacksburg.

Freeman had seen the Virginia Tech junior wideout’s fourth-quarter touchdown catch, the one where he turned and reached over his defender, stretching all 10 fingers to catch a 16-yard pass from Jerod Evans in the corner of the end zone. It put Ford ahead of Freeman at the top of the Hokies’ record book for career touchdown receptions, with 23.

The Hokies didn’t have their best game in the road win at Pittsburgh, but with Tech now routinely putting up big points on offense, there’s a little less pressure on Bud Foster’s unit. The Hokies still rank fourth in the conference in scoring defense, giving up just 20.1 points per game, and fourth in total defense, allowing an average of 321.5 yards a game.

USC’s path to the Pac-12 Conference championship game is straightforward but narrow. It must win all four remaining games, and it needs Colorado and Utah to each lose at least one more game. The Trojans’ pursuit starts here, and they are heavily favored. But Oregon is dangerous. The Ducks have defeated USC in four of the last five meetings. “We need to take this game serious as a heart attack,” USC Coach Clay Helton said.

Oregon opened the season with two straight wins, but then its season fell apart. The Ducks dropped five in a row, starting with a pair of three-point losses to Nebraska and Colorado. Then things really got ugly when they lost 70-21 to No. 5 Washington. Oregon finally got back to its winning ways against Arizona State last week with a 54-35 victory.

After starting the season 1-3, headlined by an embarrassing loss to Alabama, USC has won four straight to turn its season around. The Trojans found some much needed offense in the form of freshman quarterback Sam Darnold, who took over the starting job from Max Browne. Darnold is completing over 67% of his passes and has a stellar 18-3 touchdown to interception ratio.

Penn State is in the middle of a four-game win streak and landed at No. 12 this week in the first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings. Although positive vibes are flowing in Happy Valley, this week presents a very difficult test.

Iowa has struggled this season, but still has the ability to pull off the upset. A tough defense, led by top defensive back Desmond King, could make things tough on Trace McSorley and the Penn State offense. The Hawkeyes rank near the bottom of the conference in both passing and rushing offense, setting up a good matchup for a much-improved Nittany Lion defense.

Most of Penn State’s players saw the first College Football Ranking and their team’s No. 12 CFP ranking on Twitter, the same platform many of them used to commit to the school a few years ago when national attention was focused on off-field scandal rather than on-field success.

The Tigers’ powerful and explosive star running back — who scored three touchdowns of 59 yards or longer in his previous game — was nowhere to be seen during designated times for media interviews this week. But when the cameras and microphones were gone, Fournette apparently had plenty to say to his teammates about facing a Crimson Tide squad that last year held him to a mere 31 yards on 19 carries while defeating the Tigers for a fifth-straight time.

Auburn and LSU played the last weekend of September and both coaches were under pressure. The ugly game had a bizarre ending. The next day LSU fired coach Les Miles, while Auburn and Gus Malzahn were feeling fortunate to be 2-2.

Alabama takes its 8-0 record into Tiger Stadium for a night game with an LSU team that’s played inspired football since Ed Orgeron became the interim head coach. For the first time all season, Alabama is not a double-digit favorite in a game.

Nebraska continues a rugged two game road trip on Saturday night, when the Huskers travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on sixth-ranked Ohio State. Nebraska enters the game with a 7-1 record and a 4-1 mark in Big Ten play, following a 23-17 overtime loss at Wisconsin on Saturday night. Nebraska rallied from a 10-point deficit entering the final quarter, but Wisconsin prevailed in the extra session.

Ohio State also comes into the game with a 7-1 record, including a 4-1 mark in the Big Ten Conference. The Buckeyes suffered a three-point loss at Penn State on Oct. 22, but bounced back with a 24-20 win over Northwestern on Saturday in Columbus. The Buckeyes rank among the nation’s best on both offense and defense. Ohio State ranks eighth nationally in rushing offense and No. 10 in scoring. The defense is also stout, holding opponents to just 295.5 yards and 15.1 points per game.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are No. 6 in the first College Football Playoff rankings, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are No. 10. The loser of Saturday’s primetime game at Ohio Stadium will have its national playoff hopes all but dashed in front of a national TV audience.

Jay Cutler’s injured thumb miraculously healed just in time to replace Brian Hoyer at quarterback. Will the embattled starter’s return be enough to dig Chicago out of its 1-6 hole and send Minnesota to a second straight defeat in a Monday Night Football matchup?

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Chicago Bears are in complete free fall mode. They’re 1-6 and John Fox spent the past week refuting a report that claimed he was done with Cutler. Meanwhile, Cutler has the pleasure of playing his first game against the best defense in all of football, which ranks second in DVOA, first in yards and points allowed per game, and first in takeaways.

Still, Cutler does at least have a history of playing well against the Minnesota Vikings . He’s posted a 91.8 passer rating against them. And the Bears (not necessarily including Fox) are excited for his return.

The Vikings will travel to face the NFC North rival Chicago Bears, a tall task in Soldier Field, but it’s one the Vikings feel they can handle. The Vikings are 5-1, while the Bears are 1-6 on the season, owning a win over the rival Detroit Lions. That win was bookended by a pair of three-game losing skids.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Sunday was one of the most joyous sports nights in Chicago in decades, as the Cubs pulled out their first World Series home win in 71 years to stave off elimination and keep their title hopes alive. Monday night in Chicago features a game certain to be a lot less joyful.

Hoyer may not have given up the starting spot otherwise. The journeyman backup played some of the best football of his career in relief, throwing for 1,445 yards and six touchdowns while completing 67 percent of his passes. That gave John Fox plenty of evidence to name Hoyer his full-time starter, but a timely injury will give Cutler one more opportunity to state his case as the Bears’ quarterback of the present.

Meanwhile, the Vikings (5-1) are still atop the NFC North despite getting stomped by the Philadelphia Eagles a week ago. Their offensive line, which nearly got Sam Bradford killed in his return to Philadelphia, remains more than just a mess, it might just be what costs them a trip to the Super Bowl.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Minnesota will have to step up its protection to get the most out of its prized preseason acquisition. Bradford hasn’t exactly been the model of health in his professional career. He’s played a full 16-game season just twice in his seven-year career. Every time he gets driven into the turf is the football equivalent of pulling a gator’s tooth in a game of Crocodile Dentist.

The Bears are in turmoil at 1-6. The embattled Jay Cutler gets the start at quarterback according to the embattled coach John Fox. With a bye coming up next week, Fox would do well not to make sure the Bears embarrassed on Monday night.

Minnesota’s Week 7 struggles to protect Bradford and its league-leading defense stand to make Monday night’s affair a low-scoring one. Will Cutler be able to regain his spot atop the Chicago depth chart by leading his Bears to a major upset in prime time? Or will the Vikings continue to roll towards another NFC North crown?

NFL Week 8 is a slate of potential playoff matchups, with most of them concentrated in the NFC. The 4-2 Green Bay Packers travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons, who currently lead the NFC South.

Like every other year since 2011, when Jack Del Rio was canned midseason, the Jaguars are a horrible football team. But 2016 was supposed to be different; the organization spent the offseason acquiring young, fast defensive playmakers, and franchise quarterback Blake Bortles is now in his third year in the league. Cincinnati is taking part in the NFL’s International Series for the first time since its inception. The league has been pushing for more overseas games, and this is the first time Cincinnati is taking part.

The Redskins have a total of 10 players who are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, a list that includes key starters like left tackle Trent Williams, cornerback Josh Norman and tight end Jordan Reed. Although all three players are likely to play against the Bengals. The Redskins will definitely be missing one starter: Matt Jones.

This game will also be the first time Cincinnati has faced Washington since they named Jay Gruden their head coach. Gruden served as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator from 2011-13 before leaving to become Washington’s head coach.

Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts:

Every week from now until the end of the season I will do my best to provide links to either watch or listen live to all NFL games. If you’re like me then you’re always on the go. I work in a restaurant, mostly afternoon and nights during game times and usually have to search all over the web to see who’s streaming games just so I am able to watch while at work.

Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck has been having a solid comeback season and comes off a turnover-free outing in which he threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns. The fifth-year quarterback has turned over the football six times this season, but Luck is also completing 64.9 percent of his passes and has thrown for 14 scores.

Since being hammered by the Pittsburgh Steelers on a Sunday night, the Chiefs have bounced back with solid wins over the Oakland Raiders and New Orleans Saints. The Colts are coming off a crucial come-from behind victory at Nashville over the Tennessee Titans.

Oakland Raiders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

Oakland

1:00 PM (ET) CBS Raymond James Stadium, Tampa

The Oakland Raiders (5-2) are set to face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and former Oregon State Beavers star running back Jacquizz Rodgers. The Raiders say they aren’t getting complacent after their fast start. They lead the AFC West and look to continue maintain their lead going into the halfway point when they travel to face Tampa Bay on Sunday.

quizz49ers.JPG

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Oakland is 5-2 on the year and an incredible 4-0 on the road. The Raiders lead the deep AFC West entering Week 8 on account of a few tiebreakers. Oakland has opted to stay in Florida for 10 days after their road win in Week 7 over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tampa Bay is 3-4 on the season and is very much in the mix in the NFC South race. Should the Buccaneers win at home on Sunday and the Atlanta Falcons lose at the Georgia Dome to the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay will be in first place in the NFC South at 4-3. Interestingly, Tampa Bay has won all three of its games on the road this season and are 0-2 at home.

According to OddsShark.com, the Buccaneers will be laying 1.5 points at home to the Raiders. With Oakland being a strong road team and Tampa Bay having no home field advantage, it’s hard to not take any points the Raiders are getting in this game. This one has the chance to be one of the more exciting games of the 1:00 PM ET slot in Week 8.

Seattle Seahawks at New Orleans Saints:

Seattle

New Orleans

1:00 PM (ET) FOX Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans

The Seahawks were fortunate to escape from Arizona with a 6-6 overtime tie last week. The offense struggled for four quarters against the Cardinals, but the Seahawks offense should experience more success against the weak defense of the Saints.

wilsonjets.JPG

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Saints face the Seattle Seahawks in a Week 8 Sunday contest at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CT and the game will be regionally televised on FOX. The broadcast crew consists of Justin Kutcher (play-by-play), Charles Davis, Chris Spielman (color analysts) and Holly Sonders (sideline).

There’s the Russell Wilson that goes up against lethal pass rushes (vs. Miami, Los Angeles, Arizona: one touchdown pass, one interception, one interception, 1-1-1 record, 63.5 completion percentage). Then there’s the Wilson that goes up against crappy defenses (vs. San Francisco, New York Jets, Atlanta: 4 TD, 0 INT, 3-0 record, 68.5 completion percentage). The Saints definitely fall in the “crappy defense” category.

The Seahawks (4-1-1) may have left Arizona with a tie, but they continue to lead the NFC West and the defense is playing about as well as it ever has under coach Pete Carroll. The Saints (2-4) are third in the NFL in scoring (29.3), but their defense is allowing a league-worst 32.5 points a game.

Detroit Lions at Houston Texans:

Detroit

Houston

1:00 PM (ET) FOX NRG Stadium, Houston

Quarterback Brock Osweiler is once again the target of the wrath of Houston Texans fans after his abysmal performance in the loss to the Denver Broncos on Monday Night. Osweiler will try to quiet the critics when the Texans (4-3) face the Detroit Lion on Sunday.

osweiler.JPG

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Detroit Lions (4-3) face off against the Houston Texans (4-3) on Sunday. This will be the Lions’ third matchup against an AFC South team this year. The Lions dropped a game to the Tennessee Titans earlier in the year, but defeated the Indianapolis Colts to open the season. The Texans, too, are facing their third NFC North team. Houston took down the Bears but were outmanned by the Vikings.

The Houston Texans return home after Monday night’s disappointing loss at Denver to face the Detroit Lions. It’s a team that has rebounded from three straight losses with three consecutive victories.

Though the teams play in different conferences, this is a major game for both franchises. Heading into the second half of the season with a 5-3 record would be a major morale boost for both teams as opposed to falling to .500.

New York Jets at Cleveland Browns:

New York

Cleveland

1:00 PM (ET) CBS FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland

The New York Jets are under even more pressure than normal to win this week. Why? They play the winless Cleveland Browns this week and they don’t want the label of being the first team to lose to the Browns on Sunday.

pryor.JPG

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Kevin Hogan came out of nowhere last week and put up a nice showing in relief against a Bengals team that didn’t prepare for him. The Jets will face Josh McCown instead, but if he goes down, they won’t be (ehh, shouldn’t be) surprised by anything from Hogan, who couldn’t beat out Tyler Bray (Who? I know, right?) in Chiefs camp.

The Cleveland Browns continue to dominate the “explosive play” (a run of 12-plus yards or a pass of 20-plus yards) department. They have 44 on the season, second in the NFL, and the Jets have been prone to allow big plays this year. Even if Cody Kessler doesn’t start, McCown is cleared to play and he shouldn’t have a problem against the Jets’ horrid defense.

The Jets (2-5) benched quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and inserted Geno Smith following four consecutive losses. Smith suffered a torn ACL in the game against Baltimore, and Fitzpatrick came on to rally the Jets to a win against the Ravens. The Browns (0-7) are expected to start Josh McCown at quarterback. Cody Kessler in is the concussion protocol and isn’t expected to be available.

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills:

New England

Buffalo

1:00 PM (ET) CBS New Era Field, Buffalo

Everyone knows Bill Belichick and Rex Ryan don’t like each other. The Patriots coach probably thinks the Bills coach is a blowhard and Belichick would clearly enjoy defeating Ryan.

blountsteelers.JPG

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The New England Patriots are looking to avoid being swept by a divisional rival for the first time since Bill Belichick’s first year as head coach in 2000. The Dolphins and the Jets both swept the Patriots that year. The last time the Bills swept the Patriots was in 1999.

The Bills were outdone by the Dolphins last week in Miami, as running back Jay Ajayi ran all over the Bills. Going into that game, the Bills weren’t bad at stopping the run, but they were exposed against the Dolphins, who did a fine job wearing the Bills defense out and committing to the run.

Rex Ryan will have to plan for Tom Brady this week, something he didn’t have to do when these two teams faced in Week 4. The Bills came out on top in that one, winning 16-0, which was the first Patriots shut out at home since 1993. It’ll be a much tougher task this week facing Brady, who’s 3-0 in his first from his four-game suspension.

Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers:

Arizona

Carolina

1:00 PM (ET) FOX Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte

The Arizona Cardinals are moving on after their bizarre game against Seattle that finished in a 6-6 tie. They lamented missed opportunities and will try to produce a more common result – a win – when they face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Cardinals vs. Panthers live stream is soon approaching and we’ve got the details on how to watch Sunday night football online. Possibly the biggest rematch since the Super Bowl began, the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers face off again under different circumstances on October 30. Last year, the teams met in a match to win a spot in the SuperBowl and now they’re hoping to get back on their feet after some unexpected struggles during the first half of the season.

Both teams have underperformed in comparison to last year’s results. The Cardinals, who last season finished atop the NFC West with a record of 13-3, already have as many losses as their entire 2016 regular-season campaign. Carolina, who made it all the way to the Super Bowl behind Cam Newton’s MVP season, is 1-5 and alone at the bottom of the NFC South.

Arizona’s (3-3-1) kicking game was a big reason why they finished in a tie rather than a win. A blocked field goal, missed field goal and blocked punt factored into the unwanted result. The Panthers (1-5) aren’t playing at a level anywhere near where they performed in 2015, when they captured the NFC Championship.

San Diego Chargers at Denver Broncos:

San Diego

Denver

4:05 PM (ET) CBS Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver

The Broncos sought and gained revenge on one opponent last week, now they’ll look for revenge against another when they face the Chargers. The Broncos (5-2) dominated Brock Osweiler and the Houston Texans with a 27-9 win after Osweiler left the Broncos and signed with the Texans during the offseason.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Denver Broncos continue their quest to repeat as Super Bowl champions with Sunday’s matchup against the San Diego Chargers. The Broncos are currently tied for first in the AFC West at 5-2, coming off a runaway win against the Texans last week. Their opponents, the Chargers, sit at 3-4, but pulled off a dramatic overtime win against the Falcons in Week 7.

The Broncos have weathered the retirement of Peyton Manning and the departure of Brock Osweiler in large part due to the continued success of their defense. While Trevor Siemian has posted a 91.8 quarterback rating and thrown just three interceptions in six games this season, it has been the defensive unit that has continued to excel.

The success of the Denver defense means Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers may have more difficulty finding the time to connect with his receivers. Rivers ranks fifth among all NFL quarterbacks with 2,018 yards this season and has also thrown 13 touchdowns. Rivers’ play helped contribute to the Chargers’ victory earlier this season against the Broncos.

Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons:

Green Bay

Atlanta

4:25 PM (ET) FOX Georgia Dome, Atlanta

The Green Bay Packers are ready to take on the Atlanta Falcons in a matchup of pass-happy teams. The Packers posted a solid win against the Chicago Bears last week, but that hasn’t stopped the growing concerns about the state of the team going into the game against the Falcons Sunday.

Image result

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

This week’s Packers vs. Falcons game unsurprisingly features the quarterback that leads the NFL in passing yards, yards per attempt, and passer rating. The surprising part is that it’s not Aaron Rodgers topping the league in those categories, but Matt Ryan.

Rodgers and Ryan have matched wits five times in their careers as starting quarterbacks, including playoffs. Rodgers has thrown for at least 300 yards in each of those five encounters and owns a 3-2 edge in the series. Rodgers has had a history of success against the Falcons.

Ryan’s been a good player throughout his career, of course, but not many people saw this year coming from him. The Falcons quarterback has been able to connect with Julio Jones repeatedly, with his running backs out of the backfield, and with all of his other weapons as well. It’s made Atlanta one of the most dangerous offenses in the league.

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys:

Philadelphia

Dallas

8:30 PM (ET) NBC AT&T Stadium, Arlington

On Sunday night the world is going to get its first glimpse of a rivalry that could last for quite some time when Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz square off in their first Eagles-Cowboys matchup of the year.

prescott.JPG

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-1 straight up and 4-2 against the spread in their last six road games against the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles will try to pick up a fourth straight road win over the Cowboys this Sunday night at AT&T Stadium.

The Dallas Cowboys rookie quarterback Dak Prescott has helped the Cowboys to a 5-1 record, and owner Jerry Jones is probably telling Tony Romo to take all the time he needs to rehab his back. Prescott will face another rookie quarterback when the Cowboys face Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.

Regardless of whether or not Tony Romo comes back and plays this year or is on the Cowboys’ roster next season, these two quarterbacks stand a very good chance of facing each other many times in the future.

Michigan Wolverines at Michigan State Spartans:

Jim Harbaugh has Michigan marching toward a special season, winning its first seven games and climbing to No. 2 in The Associated Press college football poll for the first time in a decade.

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Last year’s Michigan State-Michigan game in Ann Arbor was one of the college football season’s cornerstone moments. The Spartans won on a last-second flubbed-punt runback, shocking the Wolverines and setting themselves up for an eventual Big Ten title and College Football Playoff berth.

If anyone could spoil Michigan‘s perfect season, it could very well be the Michigan State! The instate rivalry is so intense and with the game in East Lansing, the Spartans will have home field advantage on their side. The Wolverines have fielded their best team in years and have been crushing it all season, but MSU knows a thing or two about pulling off wins over them, victorious in their last three meetings.

What’s happened to Michigan State is fairly stunning. The Spartans have gone from a Playoff participant to a team that’s lost five games in a row this year, and they haven’t even played Ohio State and Michigan yet. This has already gotten ugly, and it’s a virtual certainty that more ugliness is on the horizon. Saturday should bring a heavy dosage of it.

Penn State Nittany Lions at Purdue Boilermakers:

#24 Penn State

Purdue

12:00 PM (ET) ABC

WatchESPN
Ross-Ade Stadium, West Lafayett

Penn State travels for a game against Purdue this week ranked in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2011. The No. 24 Nittany Lions scored an upset against Ohio State last week on a thrilling (and legal) blocked field goal, and it sure looks like this program is back to being good at football. It was a long time in the wilderness.

Image result

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

This season didn’t start out well for Penn State. Ever since James Franklin took over as coach, they were never a Top 25 team despite having Christian Hackenberg. It looked like it would be the same story when they suffered early losses to Pitt and Michigan.

Fresh off their monumental home upset of previously undefeated Ohio State, James Franklin, Saquon Barkley and the Penn State Nittany Lions will aim to add another Big Ten Conference victory on Saturday when they face the Purdue Boilermakers, led by quarterback David Blough.

On the other hand, Purdue has a big coaching problem. Even though Darrell Hazell has given the program three years of mediocrity, they kept him, but on a very short leash. A loss to Iowa seven weeks in was the final death knell for Hazell, and they fired him despite owning a 3-3 record. Gerad Parker is serving as interim head coach, and gave a valiant effort against the Big Ten West’s leading team in Nebraska.

Washington Huskies at Utah Utes:

#4 Washington

#17 Utah

3:30 PM (ET) FS1 Rice-Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake Cit

On Saturday afternoon, Washington and Utah will go to battle in arguably the top game of the college football schedule. The Huskies are ranked No. 4 and Utah comes in at No. 17. They’ll be playing at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, UT.

Jake Browning

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

The Washington Huskies, led by quarterback Jake Browning, will face the Utah Utes on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Utes are led by quarterback Troy Williams.

A huge interdivisional showdown in Salt Lake City as the North and South clash when the Washington Huskies face the Utah Utes Saturday with ESPN’s “College GameDay” in town.

In the most recent game against the Bruins, Utah absolutely dominated the rushing game. Joe Williams, who unretired earlier this month, ran for 332 yards and four touchdowns. Not a bad way to make a statement whatsoever. That kind of production will obviously be difficult to replicate, but it will make him someone to watch for this Saturday. Washington allowed nearly 200 rushing yards last week, so Williams could be in for another big game.

Northwestern Wildcats at Ohio State Buckeyes:

Northwestern

#6 Ohio State

3:30 PM (ET) ESPN
WatchESPN
Ohio Stadium, Columbus, OH

When the sixth-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes play host to the Northwestern Wildcats in a Big Ten college football game on Saturday, history will be on Ohio State’s side.

J.T. Barrett

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Ohio State’s nail-biting loss at Penn State last week was unfortunate, but it doesn’t nearly knock the No. 6 Buckeyes out of the College Football Playoff picture. In fact, the Buckeyes still control their own Playoff destiny – but they’ll almost certainly need to win every game they play for the rest of the season. That starts on Saturday.

The Buckeyes have owned this series, winning 60 of the 75 meetings, and they have not lost to Northwestern in Columbus since 1971. The Buckeyes enter as a nearly four-touchdown favorite, so few are expecting the Wildcats to break their streak of 15 consecutive road losses in the series.

Based on a head-to-head loss, Ohio State’s currently behind Penn State in the Big Ten East, sort of, as both teams have one loss. But if Ohio State wins out and beats Michigan in a season-ending game at Ohio Stadium, the Buckeyes still win the division, regardless of whether Penn State keeps winning. That’s how the Big Ten’s rules work.

Florida Gators at Georgia Bulldogs:

#14 Florida

Georgia

3:30 PM (ET) CBS EverBank Field, Jacksonville, FL

Here we go again. As if EverBank Field doesn’t get enough boring/bad football of the professional variety, Florida and Georgia are going to get together in Jacksonville to do this whole unnamed rivalry tilt one more time.

Image result

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

This game will have a significant impact on the SEC East title race, which Florida is currently leading despite having a loss to Tennessee. The Gators need to win out to guarantee a spot in Atlanta, as a tie in the loss column will send the Vols to the title game. It may be a down year in Athens, but a win over Florida would make Georgia fans feel much better about Kirby Smart’s first season.

These two SEC East teams absolutely hate each other. They hate each other so much, they have to play their annual football rivalry at neutral-site Jacksonville. That’s right. The Florida-Georgia/Georgia-Florida rivalry is in full effect this weekend.

Florida is 5-1 (3-1) on the year and have a realistic shot at winning the SEC East. If the Gators win the East and upend presumably the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship, Florida could make the College Football Playoff. The Gators are a better team with Luke Del Rio at quarterback.

Nebraska Cornhuskers at Wisconsin Badgers:

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Nebraska is looking to tighten its grip on the Big Ten West Division. Huskers could also use a statement win on the road to pad its playoff resume, especially with a visit to Ohio State looming next week. Wisconsin must win to keep alive hopes of getting to the conference title game. Both teams are playing “respect” cards.

Unbeaten Nebraska hits the road for its toughest test of the 2016 season, when the Huskers travel to Wisconsin for a primetime matchup. The Huskers are off to their best start in 15 seasons, heading to Wisconsin with a 7-0 record, including a 4-0 mark in Big Ten play.

Wisconsin comes into the game with a 5-2 record and a 2-2 ledger in Big Ten play. The Badgers are ranked 11th in both polls this week. Wisconsin’s only two losses this season have come against top-10 opponents Michigan and Ohio State and have both been by only seven points. Wisconsin features one of the nation’s top defenses, allowing 300.6 yards and 14.3 points per game. Saturday’s game will be a key part of deciding the Big Ten West Division race. NU enters the weekend with a one-game lead over Northwestern with Wisconsin another game behind.

Saturday night’s Clemson-Florida State game in Tallahassee doesn’t have the stakes widely imagined for it when the season started, but it’s still an awfully big game, just like it always is nowadays.

Heisman Trophy hopeful DeShaun Watson will lead Dabo Swinney’s undefeated Clemson Tigers against running back Dalvin Cook, head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday night in a crucial ACC primetime showdown at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla., that will have a major impact on the College Football Playoff.

For years, Clemson vs. Florida State has been the most important game in the ACC Atlantic Division. That’s because, since 2009, one of those two teams has gone on to win the division, and since 2011, one of them has gone on to the BCS or College Football Playoff.

There’s no better platform for this game than primetime on ABC. This game might not carry the same stakes as it did last year, but don’t tell the players that. The best way to watch this game online is through WatchESPN, which is available on computers and mobile devices. However, you will need to log in with your television service provider.

Week 7 of the 2016 NFL season features lots of marquee matchups that may or may not turn out to make for good television. We have another London game between the New York Giants and the Los Angeles Rams, an NFC West divisional matchup with major playoff implications between the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals and a Thursday Night Football lineup featuring the storied rivalry between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers that, given the injuries heading into it, might prove to be less than enthralling.

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer has played so well that he’s statistically better than Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. In their last 12 starts, Hoyer holds an advantage in completion percentage, passing yards per game and passer rating. And Hoyer has thrown four less interceptions during that stretch.(Click here for NFL Week-7 picks without regard to the spread.)

New York Giants at Los Angeles Rams:

New York

Los Angeles

9:30 PM (ET) NFL Twickenham Stadium, London

The New York Giants are in London (well, Twickenham to be precise) this Sunday to take on the Los Angeles Rams. That means to watch the game you will have to re-arrange your schedule because game time is 9:30 a.m. ET.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

After the Jaguars held off a late Colts rally in Week 4 in front of the London crowd to earn their first win of the year, the Giants and Rams are set to square off in the second of three games across the pond this season. However, this Week 7 game marks a first, as it’ll be played in Twickenham Stadium, primarily a venue for rugby.

The Giants, still in last place in the NFC East, need a victory to remain within realistic striking distance of the 5-1 Dallas Cowboys and 4-2 Washington Redskins. The Giants are 2.5-point favorites. A win would send them into their bye week 4-3 and with a two-game winning streak.

Things haven’t been all fun for the Giants this week, as further details emerged of kicker Josh Brown’s domestic violence case, causing the NFL to place the kicker on the commissioner exempt list, pending further review of new information. Brown was initially suspended for one game at the beginning of the season in relation to the case. Former longtime Bears kicker Robbie Gould takes Brown’s spot on the roster.

New Orleans Saints at Kansas City Chiefs:

New Orleans

Kansas City

1:00 PM (ET) FOX Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City

The Saints five games have been decided by an average of 4.2 points this season. New Orleans’ defense is allowing 33.6 points a game, but the Kansas City defense has been very inconsistent through its first five games as well.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The New Orleans Saints head to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, as they look to do something that has proven to be nearly impossible in recent years. The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the best home teams in all football, and will be looking to run their home record to 3-0 in the early going. Both teams are coming off of huge wins in Week 6, so expect some fireworks on Sunday.

The Chiefs rebounded in a big way after their bye week, defeating AFC West rival Oakland on the road this past week. Kansas City was embarassed in a Sunday night matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4, but used the extra time to put in a nice gameplan against the Raiders. Spencer Ware led the way offensively for the Chiefs, rushing for a career-high 131 yards and a touchdown.

The Saints top the NFL with 335.4 passing yards per game after they finished with a net 460 yards in last Sunday’s 41-38 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Yet, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them try to establish the run early in Sunday’s game with the Chiefs.

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans:

Indianapolis

Tennessee

1:00 PM (ET) CBS Nissan Stadium, Nashville

The Titans have lost nine consecutive games to the Colts. This game might present the Titans with a real opportunity to snap the streak. The Colts are coming off a gut-wrenching loss to Houston in Week 6 and their defense is suspect at best.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Indianapolis has been consistently inconsistent through the first six games of the year, either not being able to start fast and keep the pressure on teams or not being able to close out contests when getting off to double-digit leads.

Last Sunday, Tennessee held on for a 28-26 victory over the Cleveland Browns. The Titans’ offense continues to improve as this team has scored a combined 58 points the past two weeks. In those contests, quarterback Marcus Mariota has combined to throw six touchdown passes compared to only one interception. And running back DeMarco Murray continues to spearhead the NFL’s third-ranked running attack.

Offensively, the Colts have been shooting themselves in the foot with ill-timed penalties and poor decision making. Indianapolis’ running game has shown some improvement but the inability to keep the chains moving in crucial situations continues to hamper the offensive production.

Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles:

Minnesota

Philadelphia

1:00 PM (ET) FOX Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia

The Eagles are a home underdog for the second time this season, as they host the undefeated Minnesota Vikings, Sunday, at Lincoln Financial Field. The last time they were an underdog at home, was by the same three-point spread, and they not only covered, but beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 34-3, in their last win.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

the Vikings are the NFL’s last unbeaten team. They also might be the most surprising undefeated team in recent years. When Teddy Bridgewater went down with a gruesome knee injury during practice, everyone — including me — wrote off the Vikings.

Finally, the two surprising playoff contenders will meet on the field Sunday. Though the quarterbacks are the most obvious and flashy storylines — Bradford’s 109.8 passer rating is the second highest in the league and he’s up against his former team, while Wentz has thrown just one interception — this game is more about the defenses.

Both teams are surely happy with their quarterback choice though. Bradford has operated efficiently behind a strong Vikings’ defense, and Wentz has surely been everything the Eagles thought he could be when they traded up aggressively to draft him last spring.

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals:

Cleveland

Cincinnati

1:00 PM (ET) CBS Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati

The Cleveland Browns are the NFL’s lone winless team, but no one in Cleveland cares right now, because the baseball team reached the World Series. Still, they have to play a football game Sunday when they face the Cincinnati Bengals

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Bengals have been one of the NFL’s biggest disappointments through the first two months of the regular season. A 2-4 start has Cincinnati in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season.

On the other side, Cleveland is just trying to get back to respectability after an 0-6 start has once again left them as the laughingstock of the NFL. The record is a bit deceiving though, as Cleveland was within one score in the fourth quarter in four of those games.

The Bengals rank 29th in the league in scoring and have struggled mightily in the red zone. On the other side, the Browns are the NFL’s lone winless team, and currently rank 26th in scoring, 19th in total offense, 24th in passer rating, and are tied with the Bengals for the most sacks allowed (19).

Washington Redskins at Detroit Lions:

Washington

Detroit

1:00 PM (ET) FOX Ford Field, Detroit

Suddenly the Lions defense is getting some turnovers, while the Redskins defense has been getting off the field. But let’s be honest: Sunday’s game in Motown between two teams riding win streaks is all about the offenses. Get ready for a shootout.

Image result

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Redskins’ offense has been rolling in recent weeks. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is not the most consistent passer in the league, but he has great upside on a week by week basis. Cousins still makes too many mistakes in the red zone, but has the ability to take over a game at any time.

The Lions’ offense is an explosive unit that can also certainly put points on the board. They do not have the same kind of balance as the Redskins, but quarterback Matthew Stafford is playing at an extremely high level this season.

Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden is feeling confident in both his offense and defense entering a Week 7 matchup with the Detroit Lions. Lions QB Matthew Stafford will have to contend with a Redskins defense that has shutdown opponents in second half action over the course of the team’s winning streak.

Oakland Raiders at Jacksonville Jaguars:

Oakland

Jacksonville

1:00 PM (ET) CBS EverBank Field, Jacksonville

The Oakland Raiders will try to rebound after a demoralizing home loss to Kansas City last week. The Raiders had a chance to open up some daylight between them and Denver and Kansas City, but instead lost ground. They will try to make get back on track when they face resurgent Jacksonville.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars have rebounded from a disappointing 0-3 start to post close wins over the Indianapolis Colts (30-27) and Chicago Bears (17-16). Last week’s comeback victory came courtesy of a 17-point fourth quarter.

Raiders’ head coach Jack Del Rio, who once roamed the sidelines for the Jaguars, hopes to stop the bleeding by remaining perfect on the road this year. Oakland has posted win this season at New Orleans, at Tennessee and at Baltimore. But the Jaguars look a little more confident than during their troubling winless start. The defense has settled in and now ranks eighth in the NFL in both total yards and passing yards allowed per game.

One thing is for sure. You’re going to see plenty of talent when it comes to the wide receiver position in this contest. The Raiders boast Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, as well as reserves Andre Holmes and Seth Roberts. Jacksonville counters with Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns, as well as Marqise Lee and Rashad Greene. And as we found out last week, Arrelious Benn should be included in the conversation as well.

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins:

Buffalo

Miami

1:00 PM (ET) CBS Hard Rock Stadium, Miami

Rex Ryan has the Buffalo Bills finally backing up his seemingly endless boastful talk by winning four consecutive games. They seem on track to earn a playoff berth, and they’ll face the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Miami's Jay Ajayi stunned the Steelers with 204 yards

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Bills coach Rex Ryan called his offense “boring” this week, but it wasn’t a shot at the unit. Buffalo arrives in South Florida with the league’s top-ranked ground game and a plus-eight turnover margin. That is a winning formula, even if the passing game ranks 31st and lacks any real pop minus injured wideout Sammie Watkins.

There is no such thing as a trap game in the NFL. It’s a media and fan creation typically based on absolutely nothing outside of paranoia, with no pertinent data to back up the theory that sometimes teams look ahead to a game that looks more important on the schedule.

Bills ground game vs. Dolphins run defense. Miami allowed “only” 128 rushing yards to Pittsburgh, which is well below the average of 147.0 yards per game the Dolphins are giving up on average per game to rank 31st in the NFL. The defensive front tends to struggle with maintaining gap integrity, which is exactly what McCoy is adept at exploiting.

Baltimore Ravens at New York Jets:

Baltimore

New York

1:00 PM (ET) CBS MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford

Joe Flacco will be available to play for the Ravens this Sunday against the Jets. According to a report from ESPN, Baltimore did not promote practice squad quarterback David Fales to the 53-man roster. Because of this, the report says, Flacco will be active, although it is unclear if he will start.

Joe Flacco

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Jets ILB David Harris/Erin Henderson vs. Ravens TE Dennis Pitta. Harris, who missed his first game since 2008 on Monday, was seen at practice Wednesday. Even though his coverage skills have slipped, the Jets will need Harris to try and contain Pitta, the most reliable option in the Ravens’ short passing game.

The Ravens are in a rare place. Having just gone on the road to MetLife last weekend, the Ravens will return to MetLife this weekend. After nearly being gifted a win by poor officiating, the Ravens managed to lose to OBJ… I mean the Giants… and dropped to 3-3. The Ravens have had a relatively easy schedule compared to some teams, and have looked pretty mediocre.

After a brutal run of injuries in 2015, the Ravens again find themselves shorthanded as they attempt to stop a three-game losing streak against a desperate opponent making a quarterback change while riding a four-game skid.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at San Francisco 49ers:

Tampa Bay

San Francisco

4:05 PM (ET) FOX Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara

To say the San Francisco 49ers are struggling is an understatement. Chip Kelly’s squad has lost five straight games and looks to be descending into a lost season. They’ll try to snap that losing streak and turn their season around when they play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven’t been good out west this season. On Sunday, Tampa Bay will look to get things right on the road, when they travel to face the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco will be starting Colin Kaepernick at quarterback again and will look to pick up their first win under him on the season.

The 49ers will be without Carlos Hyde this week. That leaves them limited at the running back spot, which means Kaepernick might be throwing more than usual. He looked solid in his first outing against Buffalo, despite the team being blown out.

As far as experts are concerned, they have been somewhat divided. Over at CBS Sports, five of the eight experts are picking Chip Kelly’s 49ers, leaving three siding with the Buccaneers. It’s a similar spread at ESPN, where five of their nine experts have the 49ers winning, leaving four picking Tampa Bay.

San Diego Chargers at Atlanta Falcons:

San Diego

Atlanta

4:05 PM (ET) FOX Georgia Dome, Atlanta

The Atlanta Falcons possess the NFL’s top-ranked offense in total yards and scoring, will face the San Diego Chargers, third in scoring offense in the NFL. This should be a high-scoring game when the two teams meet on Sunday.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Atlanta Falcons will get to play their first home game in three weeks when the host the San Diego Chargers in Week 7. Kickoff from the Georgia Dome will be at 4:05 PM ET on Sunday, October 23rd. FOX will have the telecast. The available live stream can be found on FOX Sports Go.

San Diego (2-4) is coming off an emotional win over the AFC West rival Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football in Week 6, 21-13. Chargers head coach Mike McCoy was coaching for his job in that fourth quarter. A Week 6 win means that McCoy gets to coach for at least another week. The Chargers could be 6-0, but have lost some ridiculous games this season.

The Chargers have a poor record and a massively depleted defense, but they’re reasonably stout up front, particularly if rookie Joey Bosa plays. They also have a very dynamic passing game with Philip Rivers at the helm, and if this turns into a shootout, they can give the Falcons hell. Atlanta’s going to be playing at home and have looked like a terrific football team since Week 2, however, so I don’t want to overthink this.

New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers:

New England

Pittsburgh

4:25 PM (ET) CBS Heinz Field, Pittsburgh

One of the New England Patriots’ most anticipated games of the season became considerably less interesting when Ben Roethlisberger suffered a knee injury and subsequently underwent surgery this week.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

The Patriots are looking to extend their lead in the AFC with a decisive victory against the Steelers. Pittsburgh has been regarded as the Patriots top competition all season, but they will be without QB Ben Roethlisberger due to injury.

Numbers don’t matter for the Pittsburgh Steelers — this is not the same scheme without Ben Roethlisberger at the controls. Le’Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams become the lead dogs for the Steelers, who will pound on first and second down while occasionally unleashing Landry Jones in a play-action attack.

The Steelers will need discipline, athleticism and smarts in their zone shells. Brady has burned the Pittsburgh blitz too often in the past. He must be forced into a more methodical approach where the chances for mistakes will increase.

Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals:

Seattle

Arizona

8:30 PM (ET) NBC U of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale

The Seattle Seahawks are threatening to run away with the NFC West division. The Arizona Cardinals, the defending division champions, must defeat the Seahawks to stay close when they face each on Sunday.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Over the last few years, the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals have been the class of the NFC West, and two of the best teams in the NFL. Since the start of 2013, only two NFL teams (the Patriots and Broncos) have a better record than the Seahawks, and only three teams (including the Seahawks) have a better record than the Cardinals.

The Cardinals got a feel for the Seahawks’ “new” offense during a 36-6 loss at home in Week 17 last season. Granted, Arizona had clinched the division and a first-round bye, but coach Bruce Arians saw the new approach — and the ability of Seahawks QB Russell Wilson to hurt opposing defenses from the pocket.

Facing a tough upcoming schedule and the prospect of falling back under .500, this could be a must-win game for the Cardinals. Both of these teams came into the year expected to battle for first place in the NFC West, but a Seattle win would give the Seahawks a huge lead just seven weeks into the season.

Last Week, well … let’s just pretend last week didn’t happen. Last week was the Cubs against Clayton Kershaw. And Rich Hill. I am now two games below .500 on the season (11-13). I am 1-5 picking upset specials to win outright, but those teams are 3-3 vs the spread.(Click here for NCAA FB Week-8 picks without regard to the spread.)

Here’s a fun little fact for you. This weekend, No. 6 Texas A&M will hit the road to take on No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide . The game will be the eighth time this season that we’ve had a matchup of two teams ranked in the top 10 of the current AP poll.

Wisconsin Badgers at Iowa Hawkeyes:

Wisconsin wasn’t able to beat Ohio State, but it did jump out an early lead and gave the Buckeyes everything they could handle. Now, it’s a matter of closing out tight games. For Iowa, this is the next step in keeping pace with the Cornhuskers in the West race. This is the first in a brutal three-game stretch, so the Hawkeyes need to get wins where they can.

It’s been a running joke that Iowa has endured some closer-than-expected wins and troubling losses ever since coach Kirk Ferentz was awarded yet another contract extension in September. However, a win over a top-10 team like Wisconsin no matter how it’s done would give Ferentz a little padding as the punch line.

Wisconsin -3.5. There are a lot of similarities between these two teams. Both pride themselves on solid defense that take the ball away. Both rely on the run to set up the pass, but both have better-than-advertised quarterback play.

NC State Wolfpack at Louisville Cardinals:

At Saturday at noon eastern, the NC State Wolfpack travel to Louisville to take on the No. 7 Cardinals. The two teams enter on different wavelengths and with much different goals in mind. Here are five storylines and matchups to follow in this ACC Atlantic division battle.

Duke v Louisville

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Jackson, the Heisman front-runner, leads a high-powered offense, so it’s no wonder the Cardinals are 19½-point favorites. But the Wolfpack played third-ranked Clemson close a week ago before falling 24-17, so perhaps this contest will be closer than the oddsmakers expect.

NC State is a prohibitive underdog in this game because it isn’t as talented as Louisville, but also because the Cardinals will be at home. Thus far this season, Louisville is a perfect 3-0 at home, including a thrashing of Florida State. Meanwhile, NC State is 0-2 on the road, which includes a loss to a mediocre East Carolina squad. If the Wolfpack don’t overcome their environment, they won’t compete in this one regardless of gameplan.

If not for a complete collapse by the field-goal unit and kicker Kyle Bambard, NC State would have defeated Clemson. The Wolfpack should have won the game. They essentially did win the game, or at least were set up for victory if not for the position of kicker. Bambard missed three total kicks in that game, including the pending game-winner.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Minnesota Golden Gophers:

The Golden Gophers notched their first Big Ten win of the season with a 31-10 victory over Maryland on Saturday and will look to claim their second in a Homecoming matchup with Rutgers at TCF Bank Stadium this weekend. Probably not, but it’s worth asking the question considering any factors that encourage Minnesota to keep the ball on the ground when the teams meet at noon Saturday are not a good thing for Rutgers when looking at the stats.

Running back Rodney Smith ranks No. 3 in the Big Ten with 98.3 rushing yards per game and is tied for No. 5 across the league with seven touchdowns. Backup halfback Shannon Brooks is averaging 81.5 rushing yards per game with three scores.

According to KMSP in Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, an attorney for defensive backs Ray Buford, KiAnte Hardin and Dior Johnson said the three received restraining orders Friday. They were suspended from the team along with defensive lineman Tamarion Johnson in September for what was termed a violation of team rules.

Texas A&M Aggies at Alabama Crimson Tide:

#6 Texas A&M

#1 Alabama

3:30 PM (ET) CBS Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloo

The sixth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies return to Tuscaloosa Saturday to face the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide in a matchup of the Southeastern Conference’s last unbeaten teams.

Alabama v Tennessee

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

The Texas A&M Aggies are 4-2 straight up and 3-3 against the spread in their last six road games against conference opponents. The Aggies will face their toughest road test of the season this Saturday afternoon on the road against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In their last game before the bye, the Aggies blew a double-digit lead against Tennessee to have the game forced into overtime. This was the second time that Texas A&M had done so after blowing a 15-point lead against UCLA in their season opener, but in both cases the Aggies got the job done in overtime and kept their perfect season intact.

Will Alabama continue to dominate, or will they be brought back down to earth against toughest competition they have faced yet? Check out the video above to see what our experts predict!

Eastern Michigan Eagles at Western Michigan Broncos:

Eastern Michigan

#20 Western Michigan

The Western Michigan University football team has a set of Mid-American Conference standings hanging in its locker room. No, not the standings showing the Broncos ranked No. 20 at 7-0 or the ones showing them 3-0 and at the top of the MAC West division.

WMU vs. Northern Illinois

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

A WMU ticket office representative confirmed that 14,500 tickets have been sold “as of today” (Thursday afternoon) for this weekend’s game against the Eastern Michigan Eagles (5-2, 2-1). With 7,000 tickets reserved for students, that puts remaining tickets just under the 9,000 mark, with sales averaging “800-1,000 tickets sold” per day this week.

The team is plus-12 in turnover margin, good for second in the country, and has turned the ball over just once this season. That came last week when Davon Tucker fumbled against Akron.

“That’s the No. 1 thing tied to winning,” WMU coach P.J. Fleck said Monday. “Usually the guys who don’t turn the ball over and get turnovers are toward the top, and the guys who turn the ball over and don’t get turnovers are toward the bottom.”

Illinois Fighting Illini at Michigan Wolverines:

Wisconsin is pretty decent on D, pretty tepid on O. Iowa is more tepid on O and not as great at D. If you think Iowa’s offense can be better than Wisconsin’s defense, that tells everyone who you’re picking. I personally don’t think so, and I think then that Wiscy gets the road win to face the Huskers for the drivers seat in the West.

That’s how Vegas sees it too. As of Friday morning, the Huskers are a 24-point favorite. That’s the largest spread for a Big Ten game this season. NU is 4-1-1 against the spread this season.

Many times, I try to talk myself into going against the grain, but I just can’t see it here. Yes, Wisconsin has played a brutal schedule without a break, but Iowa hasn’t had a week off either and the Badgers sure didn’t look worn down against the Buckeyes. Iowa’s offense is hit or miss and I know which I’d bet on against Wisconsin. Put it this this way – a comment last week asked if I was nuts for saying that Ohio St. would only score 19 against the Badgers. They managed only 23 in regulation.

Regardless of how the TCU roster shakes out before kickoff, the Frogs will be facing on the league’s stingiest defenses. West Virginia ranks second among Big 12 teams in scoring defense (19.4) and is third in total defense (410.6). TCU ranks fourth in scoring (40.2) and total offense (530.7).

TCU and West Virginia have been bonded since joining the Big 12 together five years ago. Both (technically) coming to the Big 12 from the Big East, the Frogs and Mountaineers entered into the conference with major question marks. Could they stand up to the heightened level of competition?

Arkansas Razorbacks at Auburn Tigers:

#17 Arkansas

#21 Auburn

6:00 PM (ET) ESPN
WatchESPN
Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, A

The Arkansas Razorbacks are 6-4 straight up and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games against SEC opponents. The Razorbacks will try to pull off an upset against a conference rival on the road this Saturday against the Auburn Tigers.

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Who will start at center? It’s still uncertain. What isn’t up for debate is that Auburn has to face yet another SEC defensive line that can cause issues. In its last outing, Auburn held the dangerous A.J. Jefferson of Mississippi State in check. Can they do it against a much deeper group the Razorbacks field? Defensive end Dietrich Wise Jr. is possibly the most underrated lineman in the SEC.

While coach Gus Malzahn and offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee — both from Arkansas, have played and coached for the Hogs — downplayed the importance of this game earlier this week. The significance will be obvious Saturday evening.

With last Saturday’s 34-30 win at home over Ole Miss, Arkansas potentially flipped the script on its season. Going off as a 10-point underdog at home, the Razorbacks could have fallen to 0-3 in SEC play and 4-3 overall; instead, they picked up a statement win and brought their season record to 5-2 SU and 3-4 ATS.

Oregon State Beavers at Washington Huskies:

Oregon State

#5 Washington

6:30 PM (ET) PAC12 Husky Stadium, Seattle, WA

OSU will face the toughest game on its schedule shorthanded, with starting quarterback Darell Garretson out for the season, backup Conor Blount out at least this week and starting running back Ryan Nall doubtful to play in Seattle.

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Oregon State is heading in the right direction as a program. It might be hard to tell when you watch the Beavers try to throw the ball, something their coach said this week they are “horrible” at. But OSU’s pass defense ranks in the top-10 nationally in a few different categories — including pass defense efficiency and yards per attempt allowed — and the Beavers can at least say they’ve beaten a Pac-12 team. They couldn’t last year.

After previewing Oregon State’s offense, defense and special teams, and speaking with our friends at Building the Dam, our writers are ready to predict the outcome of tomorrow’s matchup with the Beavers. Washington owns a four-game winning streak over the Beavers, and are expected to extend that record via a more than five-touchdown victory. Be sure to chime in the comments below with your own prediction.

The Huskies, meanwhile, are coming off a bye and have clearly been the best team in the Pac-12 through the first half of the season.

Ohio State Buckeyes at Penn State Nittany Lions:

#2 Ohio State

Penn State

8:00 PM (ET) ABC
WatchESPN
Beaver Stadium, University Park

The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes barely escaped the Wisconsin Badgers last week with a 30-23 overtime victory after overcoming a 10-point halftime deficit. This week, it’s on to face the unranked Penn State Nittany Lions in another prime-time matchup on the road against a Big Ten opponent.

NCAA FOOTBALL: OCT 15 Ohio State at Wisconsin

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

Off a tough overtime road win that threw off their practice schedule this week, the Buckeyes are getting a taste of what a more competitive Big Ten is like. If the Penn State defense was a little healthier and lot stingier, Ohio State might really feel that. Figure the Badgers to have taken something out of the Buckeyes and figure the Nittany Lions to make some dents in the OSU defense.

Sadly, Ohio State gave up its first rushing touchdown of the season last week against Wisconsin. But when you look at it this way, it took five games, three quarters and 7:06 for an opponent to find the end zone on the ground against the Silver Bullets.

Ohio State has won four in a row at Beaver Stadium, its last loss coming in 2005. Since then, Penn State has gone 11-25 versus Top 25 teams. In that same span, the Nittany Lions have lost four times to an Ohio State team ranked in the top five. The last time these teams played in Happy Valley, the Buckeyes won in double overtime 31-24.

Oklahoma Sooners at Texas Tech Red Raiders:

#16 Oklahoma

Texas Tech

8:30 PM (ET) FOX Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock, TX

The Oklahoma Sooners are 10-0 straight up and 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games against Big 12 opponents. The Sooners will try to continue their conference dominance this Saturday on the road against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Monthly $10.99 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $49.00

A win against Texas Tech would give OU its first 4-0 start in Big 12 play since 2004. It would be the sixth 4-0 Big 12 start in school history, all under head coach Bob Stoops. In three of those previous five years (2000, 2002 and 2004), OU went on to win the Big 12 title. A win Saturday would also give OU a five-game winning streak vs. the Red Raiders, matching the team’s longest in the series (2000-04).

The Sooners struggled out of conference play to start the season, picking up losses to Houston and Ohio State en route to a 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS start. But since conference play has started, Oklahoma has found its groove with a 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS record so far.

But on the other side of the ball, the Red Raiders rank 116th in the country, allowing 479 yards per game and 124th in scoring defense at 40.2 points per game. The team’s elite offense and porous defense in the first half has led to a 3-3 SU and 4-2 ATS record.

Ole Miss Rebels at LSU Tigers:

#23 Ole Miss

#25 LSU

The Coach O Bowl is here. Ed Orgeron says it’s about the kids, not about him when LSU plays Ole Miss, the school that gave Orgeron his first shot. That’s what they all say. Orgeron wants to win this one deep inside and that doesn’t necessarily help LSU’s cause. But the game will be an indicator of the rest of LSU’s unsettling season.

An offense that can’t be stopped — 39.7 points per game worth — goes up against a defense that plays second-fiddle to none, allowing just 14 points per game. An intense interim coach trying to secure his dream job must go through the program that once fired him. Or you could take away any of those elements and it is still LSU-Ole Miss in any given year.

Derrius Guice became the fastest running back to 1,000 career yards in LSU history… and returns to his previous role as the Tigers’ No. 2 running back this week with Leonard Fournette’s return. We will see both get the ball Saturday against one of the SEC’s worst run defenses.

LSU has had time to gather itself after the changeover in coaches and are in a pretty good spot with newfound confidence on offense. The Rebels have struggled on defense all season. The crowd will make things tough for the Ole Miss offense, but Chad Kelly will make LSU work for this one.

Cardinals vs Jets

Two of the NFC’s hottest teams will square off in one of football’s hallowed halls when Dallas heads north for a monster showdown with Green Bay at Lambeau Field. The winner will keep pace in a frenzied race to the top of the conference as the Cowboys and Packers each chase after the 5-0 Vikings.

A year ago, the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals combined to win 23 regular-season games. Entering Week 6, the two teams have combined for three wins. “Monday Night Football” will feature two teams desperate for a win. It’s arguably a must-win for both sides. If the Jets lose, they’ll be 1-5. If the Cardinals lose, they’ll be 2-4. Neither team can expect to make the playoffs with those records.

ets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, both aging veterans, rank in the top 10 in interception percentage, with Fitzpatrick leading the way at 5.2 percent and Palmer situated at eighth with a pick on 3.3 percent of his passes. Both teams will trot out physical No. 1 receivers in Brandon Marshall and Larry Fitzgerald. Both teams will counter with top-notch cornerbacks in Darrelle Revis (if he’s healthy) and Patrick Peterson.

The New York Jets are enduring a nightmarish season and things could get worse before they get better. The 1-4 Jets go on the road to face the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football and Arizona will have Carson Palmer back this week.

Sean McDonough and Jon Gruden will be on the microphone for the call. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. Locally the game will be simulcast on My 9 with the same announcers. If you live in Phoenix, the game will be simulcast on My 45 with the same announcers.

The New York Jets will be heading to the desert for Monday Night Football. They will be paying a visit to the Arizona Cardinals, looking to snap their three-game losing streak. The Cardinals enter the game after defeating the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5 on Thursday Night Football.

That is a tough stretch of games for the Jets but got even tougher with all the injuries they have faced. Eric Decker is out for the season with a partially torn rotator cuff, which has forced a change to the offense. David Harris is in serious doubt for the game as well, as he was injured against the Steelers and has his consecutive starts streak in serious jeopardy.

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Fitzpatrick has to start making smarter decisions with the football. With five touchdowns and 10 interceptions, he’s definitely been one of the most disappointing players in the league this season. The Jets defense can’t afford to continue with this starting field position because of so many turnovers. Speaking of defense, the Jets are allowing far too many deep balls, and that’s not a good sign with the Cardinals coming to town.

The Arizona Cardinals (2-3) defeated the San Francisco 49ers last week in which Drew Stanton threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns in 11-for-28 passes. David Johnson led in rushing with 157 yards and two touchdowns in 27 carries. Larry Fitzgerald led in receiving with 81 yards and two touchdowns in six catches.

Both teams desperately need a win, but the Cardinals are at home and they have the Fitzgerald factor. Fitzgerald has made a career of thriving on prime time television, and you can bet he’ll make his presence known on Monday night. The Jets should look toward the trade deadline for answers if they lose this one.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

3 Day’s Trail $5.95 | Yearly Package $29.99 | MAC/OSX Package $44.95

Palmer suffered a concussion in Week 4 and didn’t get cleared in time to play on a short week, so the Cardinals went with Drew Stanton under center on Thursday night in Week 5. After a sloppy, ugly performance by both teams, Arizona eventually pulled out the 33-21 win and moves to 2-3 on the year. They’re still behind the eight ball after a poor start to the season, but the Cardinals will welcome back Palmer with open arms as they look to get back into the thick of the NFC West race.

The game can be streamed legally using the Watch ESPN app. You will need a cable (or SlingTV) login to be able to see the game. Xbox with a Xbox Live GOLD membership, WatchESPN on Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, PlayStation®4. Windows 8, iPads and Android tablets.

The extra time should benefit the Cardinals, as they will have had extra time to prepare for the Jets. That spells trouble for the Jets, who are desperate for a victory. They are coming into the game against the Cardinals with three poor performances against the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
